Rainy Day Activities in Dublin North County
- Sit and relax while the kids have fun at Fun Galaxy or Kidzone in Swords. Bring your book and enjoy your coffee while the kids play safely whilst running off some of that energy!
- Visit Funtasia in Bettystown. Funtasia offers a fabulous indoor waterpark, a play area for the younger kids and for the older kids (and parents) there’s bowling, crazy golf, rollerskating and more! A day of fun for all the family!
- Artworks in Portmarnock is a great way to spend a couple of hours on a rainy day. Let the kids pick their ceramic piece to paint while you enjoy your coffee or join in like I do. The children love their finished masterpiece as will you.
- Catch a movie in Savoy Cinema in Balbriggan or Movies @ Swords pavilions. Both have a Kids Club every weekend and every day during holiday periods.
- Visit the National Aquatic Centre in Blanchardstown. The centre offers hours of fun in one of Europes largest indoor water parks and swimming pool centres. The centre features a full day of fun for the entire family, whether you make a splash in the cool blue waves, take a thrilling ride down any one of our many water slides, float around the lazy river or relax in the bubble bay. Be aware however that the little ones must be over 1.1 metre for some of the water slides.
- PJ’s Playcentre in Balbriggan is another fantastic way to keep the kids amused. While you relax and have a coffee, the children can play in the spacious playframe, race each other on the Go-Karts, have a game of basketball or mini-soccer. For the creative and or older child our ‘Paint-a-Pot’ ceramic art offers a calming experience through designing and painting their very own masterpiece.
- Head along to one of our libraries, all children love to read/be read to.
- Another great way to spend a few hours is Leisureplex in Coolock. Lots to do including the zoo which is a softplay are, a bowling alley which is always fun, you will also find q-zar and a small ice rink. And don’t worry about getting hungry, Leisureplex has a full range of food from snacks, tea/coffee, soft drinks, juices through to burgers, chicken nuggets, ribs, fries, pastas, paninis and baked potatoes.
- How about a swim? Portmarnock Leisure Centre has swim sessions open to the public. Check timetable before you go!
- And lastly Puddenhill Activity Centre in Garristown is one of Ireland’s premier family entertainment centres. Activities include Indoor Karting, Paintball, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Children’s Play area and Animal Farm. There is also a restaurant on site.
